FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUGUST 2003 The TGC Presents:
norm; a twenty-minute independent short. "Norm" marks a
departure for the Talking Guerilla as it detours absent-mindedly into
the dark realm of comedy. “So
you lost your job, your wife, your reason to live – hey – you
still have your girlish figure.” Norm lives a medicated monotony,
emotions leveled down, his passions drained from his being. He lives
with his mother and works in a convenience store with people a
fraction of his age . Employees
like Kate: “I was meditating last night and I had a revelation.” A
wealthy teen at the top of the Maslow hierarchy, Kate is drugged,
drunk and denying: in a constant quest for nirvana through spiritual
growth and earthly indiscretions. Kate’s
desire for finding herself leads Norm down the reluctant path of
re-examining his own miserable life – of what has been, what will
be, and what will come. All of which is wrapped around the one important question that plagues all of our souls… do you fondue? In the winter of 2002 the Talking Guerilla Company released "Whetstone", an independent feature starring John Covaleskie, Dana Ferguson, Jess Markham, John Pann, and Joshua Smith. "Norm," is the first digital video short from the Talking Guerilla and will debut in early 2004.
